Use Essential Oils to Make a Linen Spray

Linen spray provides an excellent way to make your bed smell great, wake up refreshed and relaxed, and help you get better sleep, depending on which essential oils you choose from. But instead of spending the money on a store-bought spray, why not make your own? That way, you control the ingredients and can save money in the process.

Choose Your Essential Oils

The first step to making your linen spray is to choose which essential oils you want to use. This will come down to personal preferences and the primary purpose behind why you are making the linen spray.

For example, if the main reason you want to use linen spray on your pillows or sheets is to help you sleep, you naturally want to go with oils that produce relaxation. This is probably lavender, chamomile, or rose essential oil.

On the other hand, citrus scents are unique if you are looking to freshen up your room. You might want to use sweet orange, lemon, or grapefruit.

Try different scents first to see which you favor before mixing up the linen spray.

Mixing it Together

After you choose your essential oils, you will need a few other items, including:

  • Witch hazel
  • Jar for mixing
  • Distilled water
  • Spray bottle

For every 3 ounces of water, you should have about 8-10 drops of essential oils and about 1 ounce of witch hazel. You can also use rubbing alcohol if you don’t have witch hazel. This will help you to dilute it and work well as a linen spray. In the jar, combine the ingredients, then pour them into your spray bottle. You can also use a small funnel for this.

Using the Linen Spray

Linen spray is super easy to use, and you can use it as much or as little as you prefer. When you first start using it, do a few spritzes on the linens, then open a window and see how you like the scent after an hour or so.

If it is too much, you know to decrease it. If you barely smell anything, it might be good to add a bit more. But less is always more, primarily if you used a strong scent for your linen spray.

Remember to let it dry completely before laying down on your linens.

Making your own linen spray is a great way to get the perfect scent for you and your family, without having to worry about any harsh chemicals. You can also customize it to work well with your sleep or mood needs. Have fun with it, and enjoy your fresh-smelling bed!
